He lived a life of asceticism in the tenth century at Kratov on Mt. Lesnov, where he built a church dedicated to the Holy Archangel Michael . Several other monks joined him, and this was beginning of Lesnovo Monastery . He was a miracle-worker during his life and after his death. The beautiful church located at the present day monastery was built by Despot Jovan Oliver, a nobleman under the Emperor Dušan. St. Gabriel died in the Lord toward the end of the tenth century.
