Our father among the saints Hubertus of Maastricht' , also Hubert of Liège , was a noble in the Merovingian nobility of the seventh/eighth centuries in Western Europe who, following an experience while deer hunting, gave up his heritage to follow The Lord . Called the "Apostle of the Ardennes", he was the first Bishop of Liège. His feast day in November 3 .

As a rule of faith and model of tenderness, and teacher of abstinence hath the reality shewn thee unto thy flock; there withal hast thou acquired by humility greatness, by poverty riches; O father hierarch Hubert, intercede before Christ the God that our souls may be saved.

O divine thunder, spiritual trumpet, planter of faith and cutter off of heresies, great favourite of the Trinity, hierarch Hubert, standing with the angels before God do ever and unceasingly pray for us all.
