Out father among the saints Martin of Braga was a bishop of the sixth century who spent his life as a missionary among the pagans and Arians of Galicia on the Iberian peninsula. He founded a number monasteries, notedly that at Dumium. He is known as the “Apostle of the Sueves”. His feast day is March 20 .
