St Emilian the Confessor, Bishop of Cyzicus

Saint Emilian was a zealous defender of the holy icons during the reign of Emperor Leo the Armenian. He suffered torture and martyrdom in the year 820. His main feast is August 8.
Troparion
The teacher of orthodoxy, preceptor of piety and chastity, luminary of the universe, God-inspired instruction of the hierarchs, O Emilian, greatly wise, thou hast illumined all by thy teaching, O spiritual flute; entreat Christ the God that our souls may be saved.
Kontakion
Chanting, the Church, for which thou didst suffer, O Emilian, doth glorify thee who didst show thyself to be a mighty champion of the Trinity. Wherefore, we honor thy memory. Deliver thy servants from the invasion of the heathen.
