Our father among the saints Cuthbert of Lindisfarne , Wonder-worker of Britain, was a monastic missionary and bishop during the seventh century, in Scotland and the north of England. He is a widely venerated saint in England. His feast day is celebrated on March 20 . September 4 is the commemoration of the translation of his relics to Durham.

As a rule of faith and model of tenderness, and teacher of abstinence hath the reality shewn thee unto thy flock; there withal hast thou acquired by humility greatness, by poverty riches; O father hierarch Cuthbert, intercede before Christ the God that our souls may be saved.

O divine thunder, spiritual trumpet, planter of faith and cutter off of heresies, great favourite of the Trinity, hierarch Cuthbert, standing with the angels before God do ever and unceasingly pray for us all.
