Sveti Georgije ili Sveti Đorđe (280—303) je bio rimski vojnik u gardi cara Dioklecijana, koji je mučenički stradao tokom progona hrišćana. U hrišćanstvu (istočnom i zapadnom) se slavi kao Sveti Đorđe. Proslavlja se dva puta godišnje 6. maja (Đurđevdan) i 16. novembra (Đurđic). U umetnosti se često prikazuje kako ubija zmaja, odnosno aždaju.

As deliverer of captives, and defender of the poor, physician of the sick, and champion of kings, O victorious great-martyr George, intercede with Christ God that our souls may be saved.
Kondak
God raised you as his own gardener, O George,
for you have gathered for yourself the sheaves of virtue.
Having sown in tears, you now reap with joy;
you shed your blood in combat and won Christ as your crown.
Through your intercessions, forgiveness of sins is granted to all.
