The Lord's Prayer

Our Father, Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name. Thy kingdom come, Thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our trespasses, as we forgive those who trespass against us, and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.

O come, let us worship and fall down before God our King.

Have mercy on me, O God, according to Thy great mercy; and according to the multitude of Thy compassions blot out my transgression.

O Lord, hear my prayer, give ear unto my supplication in Thy truth; hearken unto me in Thy righteousness.

The Symbol of Faith

I believe in one God, the Father Almighty, Maker of heaven and earth, and of all things visible and invisible.

And in one Lord Jesus Christ, the Son of God, the Only-begotten, begotten of the Father before all ages; Light of Light, true God of true God, begotten, not made, of one essence with the Father, by Whom all things were made;

Who for us men and for our salvation came down from heaven, and was incarnate of the Holy Spirit and the Virgin Mary, and became man;

And was crucified for us under Pontius Pilate, and suffered, and was buried;

And arose again on the third day, according to the Scriptures;

And ascended into heaven, and sitteth at the right hand of the Father;

And shall come again, with glory, to judge the living and the dead, Whose kingdom shall have no end.

And in the Holy Spirit, the Lord, the Giver of Life, Who proceedeth from the Father; Who with the Father and the Son together is worshipped and glorified; Who spake by the prophets.

It Is Truly Meet

It is truly meet to bless thee, the Theotokos, ever-blessed and most pure, and the Mother of our God. More honourable than the Cherubim, and more glorious beyond compare than the Seraphim, who without corruption gavest birth to God the Word: true Theotokos, we magnify thee.

The Concluding Prayers

O Lord, Lord, Who hast delivered us from every arrow that flieth by day, deliver us also from every thing that walketh in darkness. Accept the lifting up of our hands as an evening sacrifice. Vouchsafe us also to pass through the season of the night unassailed, untempted by evil; and deliver us from every disturbance and fear which cometh to us from the devil. Grant compunction to our souls, and pardon for our many sins; through the intercessions of the holy Theotokos, and of all the saints. Amen.

O most glorious, ever-virgin, blessed Theotokos, present our prayer unto thy Son and our God, and entreat Him through thee to save our souls.

My hope is the Father, my refuge is the Son, my protection is the Holy Spirit: O Holy Trinity, glory to Thee.

Prayer to the Most Holy Theotokos

O spotless, undefiled, incorrupt, most pure, chaste Virgin, thou Bride of God and Lady, who didst by thy wondrous conceiving unite God the Word with mankind, and didst link the fallen nature of our race with the things of heaven: thou only hope of the hopeless, and helper of the struggling, ready protection of them that hasten unto thee, and refuge of all Christians: despise me not, the sinful and defiled, who have made myself unprofitable through my shameful thoughts and words and deeds; but as the Mother of the God Who loveth mankind, in thy love for mankind have mercy and compassion upon me a sinner and a prodigal, and accept this my prayer, which is offered to thee out of my defiled mouth. Amen.

The Dismissal and Mutual Forgiveness
