Our father among the saints Bosa of York was the bishop of York in the kingdom of Northumbria during periods of 678 to 687 and 691 to 705. The years of Bosa's episcopates were filled with conflicts: that of the Celtic party against those who supported Roman practices and establishment of an ecclesiastical organization of dioceses as well as among the ruling dynasties. He supported the Celtic party. His feast day is March 9 .
Тропар
As a rule of faith and model of tenderness, and teacher of abstinence hath the reality shewn thee unto thy flock; there withal hast thou acquired by humility greatness, by poverty riches; O father hierarch Bosa, intercede before Christ the God that our souls may be saved.
Кондак
O divine thunder, spiritual trumpet, planter of faith and cutter off of heresies, great favourite of the Trinity, hierarch Bosa, standing with the angels before God do ever and unceasingly pray for us all.
