Our father among the saints Dionysius of Paris ( (French)
A later legend claims that after he was beheaded, Denis is said to have picked up his head and walked ten kilometres (six miles), from Montmartre to his burial place at Vicus Catulliacus, now known as the commune of St Denis , preaching a sermon the entire way, making him one of many cephalophores in hagiology .
The Abbey of Saint-Denis , where French kings were interred, was built on the site of their martyrdom. He is venerated as patron of Paris, France. St. Denis' feast day is celebrated on October 9 .

As a rule of faith and model of tenderness, and teacher of abstinence hath the reality shewn thee unto thy flock; there withal hast thou acquired by humility greatness, by poverty riches; O father hierarch Dionysius, intercede before Christ the God that our souls may be saved.

O divine thunder, spiritual trumpet, planter of faith and cutter off of heresies, great favourite of the Trinity, hierarch Dionysius, standing with the angels before God do ever and unceasingly pray for us all.
